I just finished an electric guitar that I have been building, this is what I will be doing this summer before university next year. I actually have formal training in the are of luthery (Guitar building) and I am looking forward to building some this summer.
The specs of this guitar are as follows: Telecaster Style Electric Guitar 25.5 inch scale length 2 x handwound stacked p90 pick-ups from MJS Custom Pick-ups 0.050uf Emerson chicklet paper in oil capacitor mini togle DPDT switch Shaller locking tuning machines Hipshot hardtail bridge
Wood: Curly maple cap Wenge trim Ash back Curly maple neck Rosewood fretboard
Great work on the good looking guitar! Did you build the neck also or was that prefab? This is something I'd love getting into as well, but don't know if there's any luthier training in my area.
*Edit: moved to the music forum.
Haha thanks! I built the whole thing. Neck body and all. You don't really 'need' training if you have good skills and read a lot. I might do up a bit of a tutorial at some point, so that might help you. I don't know for sure if I will make one, but I'm thinking about it.
Their are actually a few schools in the U.S. (I'm guessing that's where you are) I went to the Canadian school of Luthery, they have a one month course that you would build a guitar in, it's pretty cool. But you can always start off by just building one. Let me know if you need any help with it!
