I am looking for any information on how to make plastic have that texture it does from the factory. For example, making a portable system usually involves a lot of sanding, which would remove the texture, and using things like bondo/epoxy putty wouldn't be right either.
How would you get that texture back to look right? I was suggested to use a sponge with some epoxy/cyanoacrylate. or I could cut the bristles of a brush and try that in something.
I have heard of rollers that make the right pattern, but I'm looking for a cheap method.
Good question, I like mods to look out of factory, so I would want the correct texture. It started though, with repairing the casing for a Macintosh SE/30 and having to make a part out of epoxy putty, thus leading to painting, and wanting it to look right.
Okay thanks. That sounds good. I might just make it have no texture at all. if I was to make it all uniform, then use a sponge with something (glue or maybe even primer) then do you think that would work? I can always try it on something random to see. What do you usually do?
